Sophia Bessias, evaluation lead for ABCDS Oversight, attended the AMIA Clinical Informatics Conference in Chicago (May 23-25), where she presented a three-tiered approach for translating AI governance principles into actionable guidance for development teams. She discussed the ABCDS Oversight framework for assessing algorithmic bias throughout the development lifecycle and mitigating potential harms before they occur. The title of her talk was, “From Principles to Practice: Implementing Governance of Clinical Algorithms at Duke Health.”
