Recent years have seen growing interest in the use of AI for healthcare. But as new tech spreads, there’s growing concern about the need for oversight and monitoring. Duke's Algorithm-Based Clinical Decision Support (ABCDS) Oversight Committee ensures that algorithmic health tools are carefully validated during creation, closely scrutinized throughout their lifecycles, and continuously monitored after deployment at the national level, Duke is also participating in the Coalition for Health AI (CHAI), which is working to create “guidelines and guardrails” that will enable the development of health AI systems that are “credible, fair, and transparent.
