As part of the Coalition for Health AI (CHAI), Duke Health has been instrumental in developing a Blueprint for Trustworthy AI in collaboration with member organizations. This blueprint provides essential guidance, guardrails, best practices, and governance standards to promote ethical AI use in healthcare. The CHAI webinar featured Duke AI Health Director Michael Pencina, PhD, and Duke ABCDS Oversight Director Nicoleta Economou, PhD, as they discussed the Blueprint’s recommendations for enhancing trustworthiness, ensuring high-quality care, and addressing evolving healthcare needs with AI tools. As founding CHAI members, Drs. Pencina and Economou played significant roles in shaping the Blueprint. The webinar covered how this framework aligns with other AI standards and outlined the next steps for further development and broader adoption.
