Duke Health AI Evaluation & Governance Program (E&G) Director Nicoleta Economou-Zavlanos, PhD, has been appointed to the AI at Duke Steering Committee, where she will serve as liaison for the Trustworthy & Responsible AI advisory committee. The appointment reflects growing recognition of the AI E&G program’s work in responsible AI oversight and aligns with Duke’s broader strategy to advance ethical, sustainable, and human-centered AI. Duke Health AI E&G’s integration into this campus-wide effort ensures that as we embrace AI across our daily work and lives, we do so with intention, keeping quality, responsibility, and thoughtful use at the forefront.
Launched by Provost Alec Gallimore in May, the AI at Duke initiative is working to identify Duke’s strategic priorities around AI and develop critical infrastructure and communities of practice to drive Duke forward as a leader in the evolving field of artificial intelligence.
