Duke Health AI E&G Welcomes Erasmus MC's Michel van Genderen to Duke

The Duke Health AI Evaluation & Governance Program congratulates Michel van Genderen, MD, PhD, on his appointment as Adjunct Associate Professor in the Duke Department of Biostatistics & Bioinformatics. Dr. van Genderen, a leading voice in responsible clinical AI at Erasmus MC, brings internationally recognized expertise in ethics, policy, federated data infrastructures, and AI validation. His leadership roles, including co-founding REAiHL (a World Health Organization Collaborating Centre) and serving as President of TRAIN Europe, reflect his global impact. Dr. van Genderen will partner with the Duke Health AI E&G Program to expand opportunities for joint research and to develop frameworks for trustworthy, evidence-based AI in healthcare. We’re excited to collaborate with him and build stronger international bridges to advance safe, fair, and globally impactful AI in healthcare.
