Duke Leaders Propose Framework for Improving Reliability of Clinical Artificial Intelligence

Duke Health, represented by Michael Pencina and Nicoleta Economou, is a founding member of a new initiative called the Coalition for Health AI (CHAI), which proposes to create a framework for improving the reliability of clinical artificial intelligence. As discussed in a recent STAT News article, Mayo Clinic’s John Halamka and colleagues make the case for “guardrails” to guide the development and evaluation of medical algorithms and introduce CHAI and its work toward achieving that goal.
