ABCDS Oversight Governance Portal

The Smart AI Governance Engine (SAIGE), co-developed by Duke and Avanade, brings the ABCDS Oversight methodology to life in a centralized digital platform for use at Duke and beyond.

Today: Anyone at Duke can log into SAIGE to register a new algorithmic solution or explore the registry to learn how Duke is integrating AI and other algorithms for patient care. Members of the ABCDS Oversight Committee use SAIGE to perform risk assessments and communicate outcomes to project teams.

Coming soon: The next release of SAIGE will include evaluation workflows, including submitting materials for ABCDS Committee review, providing reviewer feedback, and responding to reviewer requests.

What is SAIGE?

SAIGE, or the Smart AI Governance Engine, is the new ABCDS platform to manage all algorithmic solution registrations, risk assessments and, in early 2026, evaluations.

In the spirit of transparency, the Duke community (Duke credentials required) can also access SAIGE to view information about all algorithmic solutions that have been deployed at Duke Health.

How do I get access to the system?

Please click on the “self-registration link” in this guidance document to request access. Check your “junk” folder if you do not receive an email from SAIGE within 15 minutes of your request.

Where do I go to log into the system?

https://saige.cloud/

How can I see my currently approved algorithmic solutions?

See the “AI Registry View” section of this tipsheet for instructions.

Do I need special training?

No, the platform is designed to be intuitive. You can refer to this tipsheet for instructions on how to get started, navigate the platform, view the registry, and submit and application.

What are the roles within SAIGE? Which will be assigned to me?

There are four roles within SAIGE: Applicant, Governance Lead, Reviewer, and Approver. The Applicant role in SAIGE encompasses all roles on the ABCDS project team and is assigned to all first-time users of the platform. The Governance Lead role corresponds to the ABCDS Oversight Operations team and serves as the primary point of contact for Applicants.

The Approver role is reserved for the ABCDS Oversight Committee Co-Chairs making decisions about the outcomes of registrations and reviews. Reviewers are members of the ABCDS Oversight Committee assigned to review specific algorithmic solutions. Some Committee members may hold dual roles as Applicants and Reviewers, but do not review their own solutions.
